It seems that some major disappointments were created based on the conditions that were originally presented to those able to preorder the Sony Play grade 3 gaming consoles. The biggest question was that with the limited number of unit of entertainment consoles made available to the multiple outlets that ordered them were not nearly enough to go around. Retail stores were asking that their employees, many of who got into the preorder PS3 process along with their customers, to please wait until the later batch of game systems arrived. They hoped that this would be long before Christmas, and this did not please many.

The process to preorder the Sony PS 3 consoles was meant to dissuade the race of individuals pushing and shoving each other as they try to acquire a newly released game system. This system was besides arranged in the hope of bringing order to the sales of this much anticipated new product. Unfortunately it looks like it failed. It did not take long for those who tried to preorder PS3 consoles to learn that despite the fact that they have preordered and prepaid for their new PS3, that it was not going to be delivered to them as promised. Retail customers were being sent away with promises of obtaining their consoles sometime before Christmas.

One reason this happened is that many people who put their names on preorder PS3 lists were doing so not because they wanted one for themselves or to allot as a gift to someone who they thought would enjoy it. So far a minimum of seven percent of the people who bought a Playstation 3, have done so to make a quick profit. Knowing how many people want the PS3 they bought them and are auctioning them off to the highest bidder on sites like Ebay.

Many of those who were disappointed have demanded their money be returned but retailers are saying no, they will just have to wait and will get their machines in the next delivery. A lot of them are promising some little extra like a used game to ease the blow of the waiting time but even this is not satisfying buyers who believed that that to preorder the PS3 game consoles would guarantee them one in the first shipment. Some consumers believe that the company may have thought that to make supplies limited would help to promote sales of the machines. After all the first couple of years Sony will lose money on each console. That means that they need sales to be spurred by whatever means they have. They need the consumer to want to buy their the Sony PlayStation 3 console and then to want to buy as many games as possible. So keeping the public excited about this is an important part of selling.
